After an extremely long time since my last post (in part due to the time it's taken me to get the new website up and running), I am finally getting back into the swing of things.
In the (almost) year that has passed since my last post, I have completed the first year of my apprenticeship with the BADC. It's been a difficult journey, as I have had to completely change the way in which I work and the jobs I take on, in order to accommodate the time I need to devote to the apprenticeship. Having left my position as Drama Teacher at Stagecoach Twickenham, I am now living in leafy St Albans and working at the Tower of London as a Historical Interpreter and Fighter for their summer season.
Myrrdin (now called "Arthur and Merlin: The Legend Begins") had its premiere at the BFI back in April, and it was brilliant! An excellently put together film with some wonderful camera work and a lot of familiar faces getting down and dirty with swords in hand!
As well as getting involved in various projects and workshops for RC-ANNIE, I have also taken part in several combat workshops for director Marc Price, and the hope is that there will be a few exciting films to come out of it! So watch this space.
And only this past week, I took on my first professional fight direction job, working with the Southside Players and their gory production of "Shakespeare's Land of the Dead", due to be performed over the Halloween period.
